That's true about about the latest Firefox.

Latest Thunderbird and We have problems getting a long at various stages, when 
browsing an open message for example and this problem has been documented, on 
of those qwerks which I just can't work out why it happens as NVDA - which uses 
no special scripts or anything to access Windows software - has no problems 
with Thunderbird whatever and too my knowledge never has had.
