Nope, that doesn't work. But, even if it did, it would still be best if they
were able to fix it so you didn't need to. The first letter navigation is a
basic function and has always worked in the past. It isn't like using a key
combination that might interfere. It is just a simple list navigation
feature. Something in the latest update to iTunes broke it when one uses the
app, just as the display of column headings was broken and then fixed with
the latest app update.
Thanks for the idea though. If it had worked, it would have been a much
easier workaround than shutting down Window Eyes each and every time I want
to jump to a particular artist or album.
Thanks,
Chris

could you not use the by pass hot key to do this? Insert plus B, try it
and let us know if it works.

Subject: iTunes app won't allow navigation by first letter in a column
entry
The newest update to the iTunes app not only fixed nearly every issue I
had been having with the app, but also seems much more responsive. There
is, however, one issue that can be very important to people like me with
large media collections. It will not allow me to navigate by the first
letter of an artist name, album or any of the other column types. The
only way I have been able to do this is to shut down Window Eyes, press
the desired letter, and then restart Window eyes. This might not be a big
deal for some, but I have a collection that includes over a thousand
artists and albums and even my audio book collection has a couple hundred
authors, so it can be a real pain to get to a particular desired item. If
there is any way to fix this, I would be very grateful to have this
function restored.
Thanks,
Chris
