Thank you for bringing this to our attention, I'm always looking for
alternatives to Microsoft Office and I have been looking for an
alternative Spreadsheet package so this may fit the bill if I can get it
going.
Jarte Plus was the alternative to Mocrosoft's Word that I use right now
and its an excellent little word processing package, you don't need a
pilots licence to use the software and that's what shoftware should be
all about.
I use Ask Sam on the Windows PC for database management, a little fiddly
to get going and to use and I probably wouldn't recommend it for the
novice user of WE but if you're prepared to spend a few minutes with the
application then you'll be well rewarded by the power of the software.

I just had a look at the Office 2010 suite from Ashampoo.com. They do
offer a thirty-day trial version for everyone. The price for the suite
seems to be US$50. Quite a difference from Microsoft. So, I downloaded
and installed the suite, to see what it was alike.
So far, I did open a spreadsheet of mine (created in Microsoft Excel),
in the corresponding program, called Ashampoo Plan Maker.
The spreadsheet opened just fine, and when moving the mouse, I can
read the different lines. But moving with the keyboard seems to be
useless, in that no speech is giving any feedback as to which cell I
am in, or what the content is.
Just wonder, if there would happen to be anyone out there, with better
knowledge than me, who could have a look. Is there any chance to make
this suite operable with WE, either by set files or a small app. It
would have been great, since that would have meant a cheap alternative
for those who don't have the money for a Microsoft Office suite.
I have been running Ashampoo's free Firewall for a couple of months
now, and it seems quite accessible, although mouse intensive. This
gives me the idea, that there could have been cances of having their
Office suite made accessible somehow. Also, it seems that you easily
can get in touch with the developers, so maybe some kind of fruitful
communication could be established. I'd leave the idea with someone
who is more knowledgeable and has more time and energy for the
project, than do I. At least, since they offer thirty days trial,
there should be a chance for someone to figure what could be done to
make it accessible with WE.
Just thought to inform the list, hoping for someone to grasp the rope!
