Hi. I agree with you Bob. Users who don't like the global update alerts should be able to turn the feature on and off. I, like others, and you know who you are, don't mind the alert sound. I must confess though that since the timing issue was corrected concerning the update alerts, if you don't expect an update alert and one comes along, it sure is an attention grabber, grin.
