Wrong. What you do is inform me of the risks and benefits of using or disabling this feature and leave it to me to decide if it makes sense in the manner in which I conduct my business. The below accurately reflects the attitude I find concerning with GWMicro these days. I have been using a computer since before GW Micro existed, I am well qualified to reach a decision on whether an auto update feature should be in my face every time I start a piece of software. That you believe you are better able to make such decisions on my behalf is a paternalistic attitude.
You are also greatly understating the nuisance of dealing with this going off when one is mid-task and has already had to restart WE because it froze. When I am coding the last thing I need is something pulling my attention even further from the task at hand. It is not the length of time required, it is the break in flow that causes problems.
