I've had several instances recently where error reporting seemed appropriate. I'm running Windows XP with SP3 and all critical updates. I'm running Win-eyes 7.5. In one or two instances the Error-reporting software said it wanted to report an error immediately after startup in the earliest or first start-up of the day. I've always agreed to let it go ahead, and usually I attempt to add something meaningful to the space for requested comments. In all such instances after executing the OK, however, it reports that the error could not be found, and invites me to call GW Micro. What's up with that? And if it can't find the error it wants to report, what more could I say if I did call?
In a few more instances I was reading email; don't remember if the files were .txt or .html, but in Outlook 2007. In both instances I was trying to move the cursor word by word. Suddenly I heard what I'd describe as a triplet of tones, something like low-higher-low, and oops! No more speech--locked up tight. I always force a shutdown in a case like that, just press and hold the off button, because I really haven't a clue as to where I am, or if any key I've pressed did anything. Immediately after rebooting I get the same request to submit the error report, and after all I've typed in about what and how of the situation, I get the same report . . . "Error not found, and call GW Micro. I'd have quite a phone bill if I did, and there probably wouldn't be anything discovered that I could do to remedy the situation. Cheer up, folks, I'm just venting. After all, I'm still able to reboot and go on; so no biggy. Louis Gosselin If you reply to this message it will be delivered to the original sender only.
