Hi All,
I remember when I first encountered Windows. It was when Win 95 first came out, so I had never used Win 3.1. Everyone that had been using 3.1 was having a fit saying 95 was terrible. I decided to check out 3.1 after a while and to me it was terrible, but, it was only because it was a little different. The same happened with 2000 and XP. Change causes stress sometimes, but all in all if you look back things are a lot simpler now than they were in the days of 95 and98.
So relax, accept the change and learn the new OS when the time comes....

Very good point Jim. I also saw on GW Micro's Twitter that they are working
closely with Microsoft on Windows 8. GW Micro and Microsoft have a very
close working relationship.

Every time a major version of Windows is released. We see this panic begin!

It happened with Windows 95. Then we saw it again was Windows 2000, and XP.

Now, unfortunately it looks like the panic is going to start over Windows 8.
So let me just say this Microsoft and your screen reading manufacturers are
already working together on Windows 8. When Windows 8 is released upon its
release, or shortly thereafter the company who designed your screen reader
of choice. Will be releasing a version for Windows 8. Also some blind
people have already worked with Windows 8, and if you care to do the
research, you will find that there are podcasts, and reviews by said people.

You will have keyboard support, mouse support, voice support, and extended
touch support. You as the blind person will have access to all of these
input methods, so as I said again there is absolutely nothing to be
concerned about.
Hope this helps.

Subject: Future of W.E and Windows 8 concerns

To all,

I just read a Time Magazine article at time.com talking about the
newest version of Windows 8 scheduled for release in like a year. So,
th issue that I have is that it appears from scant research that
Windows 8 will be mimicing Apple on the fingerprinting commands like
Appple's I-Pad model already does. How would this affect screen
readers and is Gw-Micro prepared for this dramatic drastic transition
for us screen readers? If so then will it be like Apple or something
different entirelly? It looks like the keyboard is going to gone
right? Thanks for any opinions into this matter.

thanks,
Peter
