Just an update: problem resolved. I decided to remove 7.5.1 from the system and then reinstall beginning with we6.0 and upgrading from there. That brought back the classic c:\wineyes directory set up. I am guessing that some mix up between the program directory and the applications data caused the problem I first encountered. All seems well now.
