Hi Everyone:
Is it just me or is anyone else having a similar fit? I'd be working using
Internet Explorer 8 to fill out forms on the state of Colorado's web portal.
Suddenly, Window-Eyes goes silent! I wait, and wait, and wait ... then it
comes back to life after about 3-5 minutes.
An Internet Explorer error is generated with the usual send/don't send
messages to choose from. I click "send" much of the time, but the issue
repeats itself again and again as I type along into the edit boxes of the
form I need to fill out on the state's Web Portal.
I give up in frustration and then I try to have a family member who's
sighted to do it for me and they do not experience any issues with IE8 or
IE9.
When I FIRE UP my demo copy of Jaws, I don't experience the problems I try
to describe.
Now, before my virus checker gets pummeled as the culprit for this behavior
on the part of Window-Eyes, let me state for the records that I have the
same virus checker on all the computers available to me at home and work.
Today, I did install several new app updates including the GWToolkit,
iTunes, and others. The issue I report has been happening ever since I
installed Window-Eyes 7.5.1! I think I am going to seriously revert back to
Window-Eyes 7.2. It loads a lot faster anyway and, on the only computer
where I still have it running, I'm not experiencing the problems just
described.
I'm angry because it slows me down considerably at work. But for now, I
welcome any assistance on how best to manage the situation so I can be a bit
more productive at work. Thank goodness I work for myself--maybe by now my
employer would have written me up a million times and choose to give me my
last paycheck.
Sincerely,
Olusegun
Denver, Colorado
