I haven't seen the Reading Easy, but I am betting two of them wouldn't weigh as much as one Reading Edge.

The Reading Edge was a great product in its time. I still have one, but I don't use it often because its recognition is slow. However, I like the DecTalk voices, particularly Harry, and I like not having to be tied to a computer. Many years ago, I tried using a PC and scanner with scanning software and I didn't like it.

I'm hoping that today's technology has improved the scanners' ability to recognize and read complex printed material. If the ReadEasy+ has a good-sounding voice and it can recognize complex materials faster and if I could read in braille as well as speech, then I'd definitely think of buying one. Oh, yes! And if it's lighter than the Reading Edge and it can read a columned document with the columns read in the proper order ...!
