Mike,

It looks to me like that announcement was being caused by a labeled graphic
which appears on the line with the conversation title. Updating the set
file, if you didn't choose to "merge" your labeled graphics, caused you to
lose this labeling.

I also don't have it. There's an article in the GW support knowledgebase on
how to get outlook 2003 to speak the read/unread status of messages by
labeling these graphics which appear next to the message, you could try and
follow the same idea and relabel the ones which appear next to the
conversation (there should be one for when it's closed, and another for when
it's opened). It's not easy to do, since there are a lot of these status
graphics in outlook, so I'm not sure it's worth the trouble.

hth,

Chip

Subject: Outlook Question

Since I updated my Outlook factory setting to 1.75, it no longer announces "
closed thread", unless I arrow right. I don't always remember to do this
and miss some messages. Can I get the announcement back?

Thanks.

Mike
