Pleas, I need help with this problem. Here is what happens:

This is on a friend's new Windows 7 computer. We are working together
over the phone.
Window-Eyes is running.
She presses enter on thunderbird shortcut.
UAC comes up and asks do you want Thunderbird updater to make changes.
She presses enter because the default was no.
Window-Eyes stops speaking.
I have been told to turn off UAC. If I do that, it is most likely
Thunderbird will update. Is there a way to stop it before it does? How
do I disable automatic updating permanently? I know it can be done
because I did it on my own computer a good while back. Thank you anyone
for help.

Carol
