Hi folks, I recently purchased Omnipage 18 and a Cannon LIDE 210 scanner on the recommendation of the tech folks at my University. I wanted Omnipage to convert image files to text using OCR but I also decided to purchase a scanner and use the Omnipage program as a reading device.
I'm using WindowEyes 7.52 on a Windows XP computer. So far I'm finding Omnipage something of a challenge in terms of getting everything to speak and also just in terms of how to use the program and my scanner to read documents. I'm used to Kurzweil or Openbook at work but didn't want to purchase another expensive program if possible. Can any of you recommend any tutorial that would help a blind user uncover any of the mysteries of Omnipage and perhaps suggest ideas that will make it speak a bit more responsively?
