Okay. Could that have been what Steve was talking about when he said to refer to the documentation to auto login? Must have been. Thanks. That should get that one taken care of. So is that true then? WE cannot be installed on a server OS without crashing all of the time?

Hi Katherine, Do you want the server to auto-login? If so you can go to Run on the server and type control userpasswords 2 and press ENTER. In the program that loads, uncheck the box “Users must always enter a user name and password to use this computer.” You will be prompted for a user name and password to auto-login on the server. This way, the server won’t ask you to log in, the only logging in you’ll have to do is sending credentials from the laptop which you can do by saving these credentials so you don’t have to enter them all the time. When I was logging into a server, I had installed NVDA on the server and set it to start when the server started. If you port the sound NVDA should speak at the log in prompt and you can simply kill Window-Eyes altogether. I was never able to install W-E on the server; it crashed the system the first time I did it so I never attempted it again. Munawar A. That makes a lot of sense. I am using the administrator credentials on the server to log in to it from my remote laptop, but I’m beginning to wonder if it’s the laptop account that needs to be allowed through? And not to mention, the issue here that I’m having is the fact that when I hit the remote login prompt, WE doesn’t speak, so I need a way to automatically log in to avoid it not speaking. I guess the only way around that is to ask sighted assistance to figure out which account I’m pointing to when I get to the remote login prompt, right? Because I keep getting a username or password is incorrect message. I remember that in the knowledge base, it states that WE won’t speak the login prompt remotely. And then there is the problem of WE not speaking on local startup on the server, but that might be a whole different issue. Thanks. How did you get through the login prompt when you logged in last? Hi Katherine, To save your credentials, type the name of the host and then tab to options. In there there is a checkbox that lets you save your credentials. Once you connect for the first time your password will be saved. I think this is how it works - I haven't used Remote Desktop in some time but had a similar setup when I was remotely logging into a computer about six months ago. Munawar A. Hello all, I’m just curious, does anyone know offhand how to make remote desktop log in automatically when connecting with WE? I’m asking because I can connect just fine via my administrator account on the server (Windows Server 2008 R2), but from the Windows 7 client, when I hit the login screen, WE doesn’t speak (as stated in the knowledge base article). What do I need to do to make logging in as admin on the remote server automatic? I tried looking this up to no avail. Thanks all.
