Jim, I'm not running Outlook but I had the same problem in Outlook Express as well as other areas.
I eliminated the vast majority of my problems by removing WE and reloading 7.5 and adding 7.5.1. Since I did that my audio drops necessitating reboot has been almost negilable. . Try it and see what happens. No harm no foul.
