Terry, It's a problem with the Kindle For PC with Accessibility Plug-in. The software allows the text-to-speech to read the books, but it doesn't give you access to text on the screen. As an experiment, I used the OCR feature in JAWS for Windows 13 to read the text on the screen, but since most books are printed in multiple columns, the results weren't very useful. JFW's Convenient OCR feature doesn't decolumnize the text.
Amazon needs to do a better job providing accessibility to Kindle books, both on the computer and on the Kindle devices. C. question Is there a way to get words spelled out when using the kendel for P. C. If I am using a book in a class this would be necessary to site text. If not, is it a problem with the software from Amazon or the ap? Thanks for any ideas. Terry Chaney If you reply to this message it will be delivered to the original sender only.
