Loy, I have carefully and repeatedly done just what you describe. My entries are saved in the exception dictionary. The problem is that the dictionary settings are not applying themselves to Word or Outlook so that even though they are there, they aren't available to me. I have checked the "show global" on the global and program toggle. And "show advanced options" is checked in the Help menu. I just can't figure this out!

Do a control shift E this will bring you to the tree view of dictionaries, arrow down to exception, tab over and enter the word you wish to correct then type in your replacement, tab to update entryand hit enter, then tab to save setting, hit enter and then tab to minimize and hit enter. this should save it for ever. ----- Original Message ----- From: Sandy Finley To: 'Loy' Sent: Friday, December 30, 2011 3:58 PM Subject: RE: Exception Dictionaries not saving (long) 7.5.2.0 From: Loy [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, December 30, 2011 3:05 PM To: GW-info Subject: Re: Exception Dictionaries not saving (long) What version of WE. This does not sound like the latest version. ----- Original Message ----- From: Sandy Finley To: info mailling list gw Sent: Friday, December 30, 2011 1:50 PM Subject: Exception Dictionaries not saving (long) This is a long message as I have tried to explain. Ok, here's my age showing. In the old WE control panel I knew how to associate a file with a program. Now I'm stumped and I've tried the manual but there's something I'm missing. I have added things to the exception dictionary and saved settings but the things I have added are not available to me when I return to Word or Outlook 2010. I have gone into the dictionary status in the control panel and verified that the radio button for "exception dictionaries on" is checked and the checkbox for "include program dictionaries" is also checked. Just past that checkbox is a list of two dictionaries; they are excp.dic and mso.dic. But when I arrive at that list box I find "no selected item" highlighted. So I down arrow to excp.dic and then go save settings. I exit, come back, and verify that my edits are indeed in excp.dic; and they are. But they arent associated with programs so they aren't working as they should. Why? Sandy If you reply to this message it will be delivered to the original sender only.
