do you have a u s b keyboard? try un plugging it and let windows re detect it. my windows 7 64bit computer does not detect the keyboard every time when i boot the computer. w e will say start menu and the keyboard will not respond until i re plug it in. for this reason i am useing the front u s b port so it is easy to get to.
