Hi,
I have found a couple of things that you can do to help with the loss of
speech issue. Win 7 has some sound driver issues within itself. One thing is
to make sure you don't have any add-ons installed for I E. Also like the
Google tool bar and other tool bars can cause issues with W E. Also check
your screen resolution and make sure it is set to whatG W Micro says works
best with WE. Also, I have noticed that even though it shouldn't happen that
changing the color scheme and font size can add to the instances of speech
loss.
I also had, when running AVG virus program that I had a bit more instances
of speech loss. After I went back to my old faithful Mcaffee the instances
of speech loss has decreased quite a bit.
You may try playing around with some of these different things and see if
any of them make any difference. One other thing is the Crap-Ware that comes
with most PC's now ie: Del Help, and the like can caues problems too. The
first thing I did was to go to the remove programs in control panel and get
rid of all the Del crap that was installed.

Thanks for posting this issue. I have just joined the list and am having the
exact same problem. I have a Braille display attached and that is how I know
that the functions of the computer are still working, the speech has simply
stopped. Would appreciate feedback to the list.

Hey, I'm having a problem with my latest version of Window-Eyes and
my Window7 machine. Window Eyes just quits speaking randomly but
mainly on the internet. I've already emergency uninstalled it and
nothing helps. It just happened to me a minute ago. The only thing is
that I contained a virus in a database and I haven't changed anything
nor do I overwhelm my random access memory cause of my newer madchine
just about can do anything that us general computer users want to do
like 3-4 appplications. This doesn't occur in affecting normal
programming functions like moving around the screen or tabing just
that it quits randomly.
