No that's not it as I just typed the wrog command in my msg <smile>!!
The "find" command finds the target string just doesn't speak it.
Subsequent searches with the subsequent search command speaks it.
It is not the command doesn't work (it works beautifully) but that I have 
to arrow first to have the string announced.
Until I do that, I have no idea if anything has been found.

Thanks for pointing out my typing error to the group; but unfortunately 
that isn't what is happening here.  

The question has been forgotten in the midst of other questions over the 
weekend so perhaps you now mentioning it again will cause someone to 
recall a solution to it.
