Dear off list interested readers,
How did you guys recycle your old used computers in a safe way? I
have a lot of sensitive information on my hardrives on my old desktop
computer and my laptop that I don't want somebody to steal my
identity. My computer technitian told me that I could use a hammer on
my hardrive but I don't know how to remove the shell on my tower
independently by myself. There is a company recomnded by the
Environmental Protection Agency that says that "They will destroy the
hardrive for both of my computers" but I don't really know them. Also,
there is erasamylaptop.com where you can destroy your computer for
free and they get profit and its good for the environment. There is
also Gazel.com for online purchase of used computers just that my
computer isn't in working condition and I want to recycle it for
environmental reasons and also I'm moving in August to another state
perhaps after college with a potential internship in the Northeast
coming up soon. Finally, if you have anything to add or whatever go
ahead and do so. Also, I'm selling an M-Power afb.org technology talk
under 2005 M-Power if your interest. Hope that this isn't considered
to off topic for the list.
Thanks,
Peter
