Attention GWMicro staff and others. I am having a perplexing problem on my work computer at the Southern Oregon Genealogical Society. The computer is one that uses windows xp. I believe that it is under sp3. It is on a network with avg's free antivirus program. I am doing something called indexing. I have three windows open. The society is trying to catalog everything so that they can place it online. There is a newspaper database, a cemitary database and a window open open for notepad that I place results in. The problem is simply this. There are sometimes some unasked for windows that open arbitrarily. The window is sometimes google and other times there is something called block for me. The version of Window-Eyes is an earlier version than 7.53. One person that does their it feels that the problem results from we not being current. I think that idea isn't exactly plausible. Their folks tell me that their network is password protected. I have the feeling that somebody has figured out a way to use their network. I intend to spend time upgrading their copy of WE to the current version. The hard drive makes a bunch of noises and I can't communicate with it for several minutes. While I could be wrong, I doubt rather an update of WE would explain this odd behavior.
