Developers of QT programs have to enable QT accessibility for any screen
reader to be able to read said program (since QT is designed to make
programs work across operating systems, and all operating systems treat
accessibility differently). The Calibre developer has decided,
unfortunately, not to do so at this time, but says he'll think about
doing it in the future. As Steve mentioned, the command line interface
works just fine, as there's no UI to be concerned with. It does,
however, require knowledge of typing commands instead of tabbing and
arrowing.

The GUI version is not accessible to any screen reader. However, its
alternative command-line interface works fine.
