Not happening here, using ie 8, xp service pack 3. The clostest situation that
is similar to what you are reporting happens to me in audible.com. In that
situation,I go to my library, and when I expand the choice of available Wall
Street Journal itmes, I need to use ctrl-shift-a to toggle the browse mode
buffer. When I do that, I then do see the available choices of daily Wall
Street Journal items for the day. I'm sure when I hit the link to expand them,
they do expand, but the WE program doesn't seem them until I refresh the browse
mode buffer. No big deal, and I suspect it will be resolved when WE 8 comes
out. BTW, this is not a new issue with 7.5.3, been happenin for a while now.

  Subject: browse mode not refreshing

  hi,
  i am seeing a problem with w e 7.53.
many times when i go to another web page with fire fox 3.6 or 10 or i e8
the browse mode buffer is not being dumpped.
i can arrow through the page and w e is reading the info from the previous
web page.
it usually happens when i go to another companys web page. like i went from
the nfb.org to amazon.com page the page title said i was on amazon but all the
info was reading the nfb page until i mouse clicked on the screen. then the
correct info will speak.
  anyone haveing this problem?
i am getting the same focus problem when i boot the computer.
w e will read a invisible nod32 dialog until i mouse click on the desktop.
then it will speak.
  thanks for info.
