This is really strange. And I mean really. This morning, I did upgrade to WE7.5.3, as it finally got released in our local version. I have for a few years now, actively being enjoying the VoiceRotor app, since I am working in a multi-lingual setting, and need to switch voices ever so often.
Now, when hitting the hotkey for switching - Win-F2, I am told the requested voice cannot be found. It happens, when I try to switch to a SAPI voice; and it happens when I try switch back to Eloquence Reed. No matter what voice I wanted to switch to, in my defined list, it keeps telling me the voice cannot be found. I then opened the definition screen for the app - by hotkey Ctrl-Win-F2. And woopsy, there the list of voices installed is all blank. But the strangeness does not stop here. I now thought, what about the native list of voices, in the WE control panel. So, I go there, under Devices, and syntehsizers. Would you believe it, the list is totally BLANK. Yes, that is true, it keeps telling me no selected item, when I arrow up and down the list. Simply totally blank. Not even Eloquence is showing up there. OK, now you think the silliness is all done? Oh, no, guys - hold your breath, there is yet one more puzzling to come. Eloquence keeps speaking flawlessly. Even when I type this message, he is reading out all of it to me. Simply just not showing up in my synthesizer list. Where did he - and the very list of a few handfuls voices under Eloquence and SAPI - go. Are they playing hide and seek? Who knows. They are not showing up, whatsoever. Could anyone here please, check to see if this is a general bug in WE7.5.3, or if my computer has started a new game with me. Or, does anyone happen to have the slightest clue, what to try - so as to get back my choices of voices. And, YES, I already have tried to close WE, and restart it. No change. The list of synths, keeps blank. HELP! :) If you reply to this message it will be delivered to the original sender only.
