You ever tried Virtual Dub? Free and fairly accessible at least for capturing anyway. Should even work with your USB device.

Hi, I am aware of video cards that have plug ins in the back of the card (desktop models I'm guessing), that allow the connection of a VCR to the computer for video tape to digital conversion. I purchased a USB device with apparent propriatary software (which is totally inaccessible, big surprise) from Heartland America.com . Does anyone know of any hardware/software combos that would allow me to work on my laptop to do the same as lets say, my old ATI all in wonder Rage 128 pro AGP graphics card in porting VHS to digital format for video plus audio. Obviously, I would need access to the controls using WE.
Thanks
