this is a windows 7 problem. if you lose all sounds and w e has not crashed try these commands in a batch file. running this does not always work. but its worth a try. its better then haveing to reboot the computer every time. i also set the desktop icon to run as administrator. then if the windows sound is not the problem you will still hear the sound and escape before it runs. also if the sounds come back you usually have to reload w e. it does not like fiddleing with windows this way. i put the shortcut on the desktop with short cut keys to run the batch file.
