Assuming that you are referring to the Outlook 2007 inbox, and, assuming
that Outlook 03 and 07 still share the same menu options and dialogs, you
may be able to do this.

>From the Inbox, type Alt V for view, A for arrange by, V for current view, D
for define views.

In Outlook oh three, this opens up a dialog with a bunch of stuff. Tab to
the Modify button and press spacebar. Yet another dialog opens up with more
stuff. Tab to the Format columns button and press spacebar. Another dialog
opens up and you are in a list viewcontaining items like icon, to, from,
subject, received, flag status, and there may be others. The from field is
the one you want, so arrow down to that.

Tab to the characters edit box and type in a number that is larger than the
currently displayed number.
Tab to OK and press Enter.
Tab to OK again and press Enter.
Finally, tab to the apply view button and press Enter.

All that is assuming that Microsoft hasn't made so drastic a departure from
the Outlook oh three inner workings that someone saw fit to omit the format
columns dialog. If they have, shame on them.

The navigation pane in oh three--I don't know if oh seven retained that
layout--can be turned off, and the option to do that is in the view menu.
With that turned off, I can navigate by pressing Control-Y and choosing a
folder. Also, make sure the Outlook window is maximized--Alt-Space bar, X.

This sort of stuff is not mentioned in Microsoft's accessibility help pages,
nor does the manual go beyond the generic "drag this and drop it there"
instructions, so one must slog through various dialogs just to learn what
can and cannot be done without sighted help.

Hope this wasn't a waste of time,
Lou N.
