Hi Alan:
In my opinion, it is better not to update those programs unless:
1. you know for sure that the update will be accessible and
2. the update will have some feature or bug fix that is important to you.
I think you will here from GW Micro at some point if Firefox version
11 is accessible.
another tip that you might find helpful is that when you install a new
version of Firefox, for instance, make sure you save the downloads so
that if, in future, you need to go back to an earlyer version, you
still have the executible.  For example, I am currently using Firefox
version 10, but I have the executible versions for versions 3, 6 and 8
in my download folder so if I get frustrated with version 10, I can
just uninstall it, and install an earlier version.  I will not lose my
bookmarks and most other settings.
