How about an app to replace the Find command in Windows? Since there's no
decent database program, as Butch pointed out, I use Notepad text documents
and the folders and subfolders structure of Windows as my databases for
music, movies, books, etc. I use the Windows Find command to search this
makeshift database. I am using XP, so I don't know if this has improved
any or not; but the Windows Find dialog that comes up is very cumbersome
and takes several screens to go through and tabbing through several items
repeatedly to get to the spot where to just tell the system what I want to
look for. A nice straight forward Find command would be great. The Find
dialog in Notepad and Wordpad are simple and easy to use. The Find dialog
in MS Word is easy enough too, although you can't just F3 to the next
occurance of the found text like you can in Notepad. Why can't a Find
dialog for Windows and searching your hard drive or some subfolders on it
be straight forward?
