I agree that updated browse mode and web support are most important.

Subject: Dream app thoughts

    Hello all,
Just my two cents on the dream app discussion:
Firstly, I'd love to have an OCR app, as I use VMware player a lot and it would be useful to be able to see what's going on in that window assuming screen readers in the VM aren't working. I'm sure I could think of other practical uses such as image-based PDF's and so on. I realize that development of such a thing and the licensing of a decent OCR engine would cost money and thus this could not be a free app without somehow either charging for the app or charging extra for a Window Eyes upgrade. As GW-Micro offers lower costing upgrades for Window Eyes, I'd suggest it being an app purchase which is licensed to the Window Eyes serial number. That way those who don't want it or wouldn't use it don't have to buy it. I realize that when Jaws 13 came out with it's convenient OCR feature GW-Micro said that it would be up to a third-party developer to make an OCR app, however I think a paid app like this with a decent comercial OCR engine behind it would be nice. I also think that perhaps it could pave the way for other add-on apps like this which might be paid if they provided sufficient functionality. That being said, the biggest complaint I hear against Window-Eyes is it's lack of updated web support and unfortunately that in some areas of this especially with newer web objects I confess this is true. So honestly, I'd say that improvement to browse mode and web support is a priority for me over any other apps at this time as I know that GW-Micro only have so many people to do the coding work. Hope that version 8 will settle a lot of the web issues and I look forward to seeing where Window-Eyes goes in the future. I still am glad to be a Window-Eyes user.
    Just my two cents.
    Cory
