Hi Everyone,
Okay, I went back up to that web site of
http://webaim.org/projects/screenreadersurvey4/.
I used another screen reader Guess what, Once it did read a few of
those "Yes/No" questions, the first one being "Do you use a screen
Reader?" I answered that yes, but you know what, it didn't read the
rest of them that I found impossibl to read with IE9 and Window-Eyes.
But, it did read the combo boxes just fine. I didn't have any trouble
with them.
Some of those "Yes/No" questions must not be tagged, I don't know,
but it's odd that Window-Eyes reads most everything else, accept the
first few questions, and those that were requiring a "Yes/No" answer.
These were check boxes.
It's unfortunate that we can not use the Mouse with IE9. I use to use
it all the time with IE8, and I do miss that.
I'm going to say this. There are serious issues with some screen
readers and IE9. Now, I'll try NVDA next. lol.
Folks, I really do prefer using the loving Window-Eyes. <smile>
However, and this is on the same subject, I must be honest, that
Window-eyes does not read the questions in a form that I have to
fill out every single night for a sleep study diary, so I do have to
use another screen reader for that one. It reads every single
question with no hitch. This started with IE9.
I must be honest, that I think some of this has to do with MSAA mode.
Thanks.
Pat Ferguson
