Hi folks
Got an interesting one for you here. All of a sudden just a bit ago, window-eyes 7.5.4.1 began lagging on my system, seemingly for no reason that I can think of. I did install some windows updates, but the lag issue didn't start until after i had rebooted after installing them. It just started happening pretty much out of nowhere. I even did a system restore just to be sure. I have a couple other screenreaders on this pc, and none of them exhibit this behavior. To give you an idea of what I'm talking about...let's imagine that I press the start menu key. What should normally happen, of course is for the start menu to come up, but it lags and takes window-eyes about 4 maybe 5 seconds to read anything. this is on the desktop, the start menu, or anywhere in windows. I have a few other screenreaders on here as well and they don't exhibit this behavior. Anyone got any ideas as to what to do to go about fixing this?

I really would like to use WE again reliably.
Thanks!
Chris

I should mention this is in windows 7 64-bit. but when do it takes up to 3 or 4 seconds for anything to happen, and it's very frustrating. do any of you guys on the gw staff know why this might be happening and, more importantly, how to get things back to normal? I know it's a window-eyes issue because I've tried running with other screenreaders and they don't exhibit this kind of behavior. Would an uninstall and a re-install fix this issue? Or, can I try anything else to get things going again?
