It's been a while since I last set it up. Far as I remember, you can pretty
much leave it with the standards running. You might want to check, that it is
set to make automatic updates, and if you want to have it perform scheduled
scans, you will have to set them up at a time when your computer is not busy
with everything else, or it could slow down your system while the scan runs. I
do hold, that it by standard turns on real-time protection, but this might be
in the paid version, so make sure to check that one setting.. Again, it is a
couple of years, since I did an all clean installation of the free software, as
I liked it that much, I quite quickly bought the lifetime upgrade, and have
been running that one ever since. Basically, the two versions are the same, but
there is a couple of features that only works in the paid version. If memory
serves me right, one of them was the real-time protection. For testing it out,
and getting familiar with it, the free version will do a great job. So get that
one installed, and do your playing. If you let them send you offers for a
period, they do sometimes offer a reduced price for the full version.

A small tip, would be that certain operations - like manual checking for
updates - can quickly be performed from the taskbar, or sys-tray. Depending on
which of the methods you are most familiar with, either hit Win-B, or
alternatively, hit Insert-S. Then scroll down to SuperAntiSpyware, do a
right-click (with the app-key), and make your selection from the drop-down
menu. Saves you a few mouse operations. Smile.

Btw, you do not need a new installation, should you decide to upgrade to a
paid for service. All you do, is making your payment, receive the user-key by
email, go into the adviced spot in the free version you have already installed,
and enter the key. You then are notified, that the version has been upgraded,
and you now are running a full version. Keep the key in a safe place, should
you ever need to reinstall, this can be performed again, simply by reinstalling
the newest free version, and re-entering the key. No need for a lengthy and
tricky correspondance with a support team.

OK, there is a few more settings, but it all would depend on your likings, so
I won't really deal with them here. Just let you know, you can decide if the
software should perform a quick scan of your computer at bootup and shutdown,
if it should start in minimized mode, whether or not to leave huge files on
your system alone, how it should treat zip archives and the like. In short,
pretty much what you are familiar with, from other stuff like MalwareBytes.
And, SuperAntiSpyware can be run along with other security software, without
making any further trouble. It's been running here, along with a couple of
other securities, and never seen SuperAntiSpyware to be the bottleneck of
trouble. Only remark to make, is if you set it to perform scans at boot-up and
shutdown, this will slow down these tasks noticeably. Your boot-up could easily
take several seconds more, so if you want quick booting, do not turn on the
boot-up scan. But I guess this is the case with quite a few AntiMalware
software.

When I get this installed, what do I need to set up in the options menu? Or
do I just set it up and let it run.

SuperAntiSpyware is quite accessible, and straight forward when comes to
setting it up. Only drawback of it, is that you will need to use the mouse keys
for a few activities. But really, I haven't seen any security software lately,
where you can do everything without the mouse keys. Smile.

Have been running SuperAntiSpyware here for some two years, and upgraded
to a life-time subscription. Have run it on three different systems, all XP.
So, can't tell how well it works on newer Windows flavors, but doubt there will
be any real difference.

      Hope this helps,
      David

        Hello!

I know they say that when you are running a program, it depends on what
you like to use. Whether you pay for it or it is the free version. I just
downloaded Super Anti-Spyware but haven't set it up yet. I'd like to know how
easy this program is with Window Eyes and how accessible it is. Also, is this
hard to set up and use. I do have MalWare Bytes installed but, they keep
flagging things that are safe to run and I have told there support that the
things they are flagging are not trojan's, or malware. Any help would be
appreciated. Those that have my contact informatino may also write me off list
so this topic does not cludder up the list.
