Are you behind the router, both machine on the same LAN?
If yes, did you check that option call local network after alternative help
request?

The socket error is saying from what I understand from the manual is, the
other client has the port block.
If you use the first request, your side must have the port open.
If alternative request, the other side must have the port open.

No matter what, either of the side, must have the define port open.
No work around with it from what I understand.

Subject: Problem with Remote Assistance, please help!

Good evening all.
Please can I have your help?
I am having a strange problem with Remote Assistance. What's happening
is this.
1. I go to the Remote Assistance pull down, under the help pull down of
the Window-Eyes User Interface and select the ask for help option.
2. Since I am behind a router, I select the alternate help request button.
3. I am then given a password which I then enter into the second machine
where at this time the offer help dialogue box is open and I put my name in.
4. Once I entered the password on the machine offering the help, I click
ok on that. I then go back to the machine asking for help and click connect.
5. On the machine asking for help, I get the following error message:
"Window-Eyes Remote Assistance. Error 10061 connecting socket".
So I click ok.
6. On the machine offering help, I receive the following error message.
"Window-Eyes Remote Assistance
<Unable to find invitation> error <6000> received back from GWMicro
server."
I then click ok.
Both machines are running Window-Eyes 7.5.4.1, Windows 7 Home Premium 64
bit.
Thanks so much for any help in this matter! It is greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards,
