I am also an happy Apoollo2 user, but only dutch. 
I thought, it was possible to switch languages by sending a command to
the synthesizer. Ones I have had a text document with codes you could
send to the synthesizer.
For switching languages, I thought it was:
@=2
or 3 or 4. It depends on how many language chips you have built into the
apollo.
The only problem is: how can you send this command to the comport of the
apollo.
In real dos, or win98 you could use:
echo @=2 >com1
but in windows7, this will not work.
I thought I have seen your question on the GW Micro mailinglist as well,
