I believe that the default is to have JavaScript enabled, but you can check it by launching IE, and going to Tools, Internet Options, and then tab over to the advanced tab, and arrow down to the section that I believe is called Scripting.
As for adobe Flash, go to Control Panel, and then to Add/Remove Programs. If you have Flash installed, it should appear in that list of programs.
