I found the appropriate folders, and I do have GoldWave. I will note,
however that while I was using Realtek on board sound, that the Windows
sounds were playing at nhormal volume. It was when I changed to the Sound
Blaster sound card that the Windows sounds became softer.

un fortsionly this is normal for vista and windows 7.
if you can get through windows administration rights you could use something
like goldwave to increase the volume. then copy the files back into the
media folder. the only way i was able to do this was to move the media
folder out of the windows folder increase the volume then copy the folder
back into the windows folder. but if you have to use the system file checker
(sfc /scannow) it will put the original sound files back.

Subject: Windows Sounds
I installed a Creative Sound Blaster sound card on my HP computer today. I
have noticed that system sounds are softer than other sounds, even though
the volume is set to 100% for everything. Please write off list since
Window-Eyes seems to be working fine.
