Hi, Dave.

I infer that you are wanting some method of keeping track of revisions. You
are thinking of having the revised text a different color from the original
text, right? Maybe this paragraph from the WE manual can obviate that need.

Revisions

Revisions, also called markup or "

Track

Changes," contain changes

such as insertions, deletions, and formatting alterations that have been
applied

to an original document. Use the following commands to navigate among
revisions:

Revision Next: Alt-Right Bracket

Revision Prior: Alt Left-Bracket

To answer your questions, yes MS Word can be set to display different
colored texts, and, yes, WE can be configured to announce those changes. I
don't know what version of Word you are using, but I'm sure a user can
change the font or color of revised text. In Word twenty oh three, those
settings are in the Tools, Options, track changes property page.

To get Window-Eyes to announce attribute changes, do this.

Control backslash to open the WE control panel.

Alt-E to put focus on the settings tree view.

S until you land on the Screen node.

Right arrow and down arrow to other.

Tab to the attribute changes radio buttons and select the on button.

Tab to Save settings and hit space bar.

A bit of setup required there. Why don't you try those built-in hot keys
suggested in the manual before going through the hassle?

Subject: Colors and Track Changes

Good evening, Experts!

Is it possible to create MS Word documents with different colors and then to
identify different colors using WE? If so, how?

Second, Is it possible to use the "Track Changes" feature in MS Word using
WE? How?

Thank you for your always reliable assistance and knowledge-sharing!

Dave
