Hi, I asked this question on another list and really didn't get a usable
answer, so I'm going to ask it here.
I can use Outlook Express, on my Windows xp sp3 machine, and WE 7.5.4.1 to
send texts to friends of mine, whom I have gotten the phone number and the cell
carrier they use.
When I am using OE and receive an email message from someone using a
traditional email address, I can state how that person's name will be displayed
in the OE contacts area, or in the address book application that comes with XP.
When I make a contact in OE that uses the cell texting "email" address, for
some reason the contact info does not take so to speak, and I am left seeing
incoming "from" column entries as the person's phone number and then the cell
carrier's domain name. I cannot change the way OE displays the person's "cell
address" in the from column. So, if I get several texting messages from peope,
I have to either memorize the texting phone numbers, or I have to keep a
reference log as to which number belongs to which person.
Anyone know why the cell addresses don't stick like a normal email address?
My email address, with my ISP, is
[email protected]
I can manipulate the display name as much as I want. I cn have it say,
Schwarma, the King of the Lizard People if I want it to.
But if I enter my wife's cell number into the new contact dialog box as
Tracy's cell, and then the email address connected to that contact as
[email protected] (the phone number, the at sign, with mms.att for
message.A T and T . net
When incoming emails come in from that cell number's email address, they come
in as
[email protected]
Not Tracy's Cell.
Anyone know how I can change this or is it just the way it is?
Thanks
Keith
