Yes, it is fully possible to have both Internet explorer and Firefox on the
same computer - simultaneously. I have done so, for several years. You can
manually start each of the programs, and they can be open at the same time;
should you feel the need. Yet, only ONE of them, can be your DEFAULT net
browser. That is, when you click on a link in an Email message for instance,
the Default net browser will open and display the linked website. You will
have to decide globally, whether this should happen in Firefox or in
Internet Explorer. But don't worry too much about it, you will be prompted
for that decission when installing the Firefox program. And, you can always
change that setting at any later time.
How To Install Firefox, the easy way?
My best suggestion here, would be for you to go to
http://ninite.com/accessible
. Here tab to the list of available software. Check the checkboxes for all
the software you want installed and updated on your computer system. Finally
tab to the "Get Installer"-button, and hit Enter. Follow onscreen
instructions. Save the file to a spot on your computer, that you easily can
refind - like your desktop.
When the download has completed, run the newly downloaded .exe file. It will
download install and update any of the software that you checked when
building the package.
At any later state, whenever you want to upgrade any of the software, simply
run the .exe file again. You do not need to build a new package. Just make
sure you have access to Internet, and run your already downloaded package
file. It will automatically discover what software you have already
installed, and go look for updates. If any updates are found, it will
download and install them, fully automatically.
Should your firewall prompt you for allowing the Ninite installer to have
access to the Internet, simply just grant it the rights it requests.
The biggest thing about the Ninite installer, is that you don't get any of
those toolbars or any adware installed along with your software. You hardly
will find any more seamless and straight forward way of doing your software
installation and updating. No further buttons to be pressed, no further
questions to be answered, no further licenses to be agreed on through the
installation process. Of course, you are still bound by any license for the
software in question, but you don't have to accept the license over and over
again, like with normal installers.
The Ninite screen is pretty accessible, though you might want to use your
mouse buttons, should you want to explore it. Basically, there is little to
explore, it does its job all by itself.
Remember to run the Ninite installer once or twice a month, and you are
always up-to-date on your software. Ask for anything easier?

Subject: Installing Fire Fox
Hi all,
I don't know anything about this, so please forgive me for asking the
obvious. I want to install fire fox. Right now I am using Internet
Explorer
8 and I don't want to get rid of it, I just would like to add fire fox. Is
this possible? Also, how exactly and in great detail, do I install Fire
Fox?
Thanks so much for your help.
Paulette
