1. Your best bet for chatting may be a 3rd party solution. I have had
a couple of chats with a blind friend on the standard Facebook site, but it
is not easy to do and I am not sure I could have managed it at all without
the aid of magnification. He was not using Window-Eyes. Miranda IM
<http://www.miranda-im.org/> is a workable solution. It will also give you
access to several other chat protocols if you want them.

2. Reading through your news feed on the mobile site is pretty
straightforward, but you get a lot of clutter that there doesn't seem to be
an easy way to eliminate. I have found that navigating by paragraphs helps
with that. You can arrow down to get to any information on a post that
isn't read that way or to activate the comment or like links. You get to
skip over the photo links which are extremely annoying. One thing to note.
After the first page, the "see more stories" link will be jumped over with
the paragraph function. You can arrow back up to it or sometimes it's
quicker to shift-P back to the last post and then arrow down.

3. To post a status message, just type in the edit box near the top of
the news feed screen on the mobile site. If you have gone on to subsequent
news feed screen, you can go back home or to your profile.

Subject: facebook tips

does anyone have any tips on getting around on facebook using window-eyes
7.5x?

I know facebook took down the lite version, and now there's the mobile
version,
but I've been having trouble with timeline, since now facebook is switching
everyones
profiles over to timeline one by one it seems.

What I want to do on facebook,

1. instigate or take part in chats
2. read and reply to wall posts
3. post status messages

been having trouble figuring out how to do that even on the mobile version,
so I was just wondering if anyone had any tips for facebook specifically?

I mean, is there like a series of tabs you press to get to specific things?
like tab 8 times to get to your status, or ctrl-shift-U to get to this then
tab 4 times
and down arrow once, or something along those lines?

thanks,
Tom Coburn
