Keith,
Thank you for responding, I was starting to think I was not getting through to
the list. My last few questions went largely unanswered.

I think that is a sad state of affairs that google has made it so that not all
screen readers can access their content. Especially since they seam to be every
ware. I did do some looking around in my search to this answer and did see that
they have worked with the jaws screen reader to make things on their google
products work with that particular screen reader.
I also found it troubling that they don't have a good handle for their chrome
browser either.
I did see mention of Window Eyes but it was not in the list of screen readers
that was working with their products .

I did find that the mouse could read that screen but I could not figure out how
to make that switch to the next page. It seamed like there were things being
read when using the mouse that were not entirely related to the post. I am
guessing that the mouse was reading the entire line of the open window and not
just the part of the screen that is displaying the group message. and then it
seamed to abruptly stop so I guess there was more to either scroll to or to
turn the page but I didn't see how I was supposed to do that.

This is a bummer since allot of the questions I have had lately are related to
google mail and the answers show up in google groups.

Do any of the buttons do anything at all?
Are we supposed to use one of them to access this content?
Thanks again for replying.
Shannon

I've noticed when using WE 7.5.4.1 and IE 8 with google groups, you can read
the message you have on the screen with the mouse cursor, but the arrow keys do
not "register" anything textually that is.

Other than that, I think Googlegroups are virtually inaccessible eexcept for
the main buttons. You can't even access the settings menu due to the fact that
it seems to be a "live" drop down menu, like the ones Facebook uses on their
main site, with the "hover the mouse cursor" and what not.

And there seems to be no way of alerting Googlegroups about the issue.

    Good morning,

What is the trick with WE and IE 8 and reading messages in google groups?

I looked up a question in the main google search window. One of the results
for the answer is in google groups.
However I am not able to access any answers that are supposed to be here. I
can't even find mention of the original text of the search result.
There are buttons back to gmail, post a question, refresh, tree, flat,
paged, report abuse, over view, discussion, settings, and it tells me to click
on the star to add it to my favorites but I find no star. I don't think I want
it as a favorite any way but what is the trick to reading posts/messages on
google groups?
After I get past all this I am at the privacy policy and such that is at
the bottom.
I have found nothing on this page to actually read.
I have refreshed the window. I have redrawn the screen. I even tried
turning off brows mode but that is not working either.
I don't believe that this screen has nothing else but the obligatory links
for home and the like and all these buttons. There has to be more here.
    How do I read it?

    Thanks
    Shannon
