Hey all. I've been looking at encryption solutions for cloud-based
storage. To put that in plain English, I've been looking at a way to
protect my files when using a program like Dropbox. In any case, I found
one called Cloud Fogger. You can Google them and go to their site.
Basically this makes a tunnel folder on your system. What you do is copy
the files you want protected to this folder. Then it will copy them to
Dropbox for you and they are encrypted when they reach dropbox. So, if
you like the convenience of having files in Dropbox so you can access
them quickly from desktop, netbook, mac, or iPhone, you don't have to
worry that your bank accounts, personal documents, credit card numbers,
etc are being snooped by dropbox.
OK, so, why am I writing this email? Simply because currently the Cloud
Fogger program is not accessible. However the Cloud Fogger team is quick
at responding. I explained the lack of accessibility to them and they
got back with me saying that they might be able to add this to their
program, but much of this depends on prioritizing based on feedback. So,
if people are interested in making this accessible, they need to write
them politely and ask that accessibility be added.
Thanks all for considering this.
