Hi Alan, I’m not counting them out. Having any anti virus program on your PC is like having a burguler alarm on your house. It doesn’t mean you can’t get broke into, just lessens the chances. LOL

Then I remembered that when I paid for Norton total protection 2012, I got 3 PCS so I installed it on this computer and ran it. The problem was dealt with and removed. I don't trust people when they say this, that, or the other isn't any good. I've seen the free stuff get rid of stuff the paid stuff didn't catch and the other way around too so I wouldn't count MacAfee or Norton out. ----- Original Message ----- From: Tony C To: [email protected] Sent: Monday, August 27, 2012 9:46 AM Subject: virus protection I had used Mcafee for several years with pretty good luck. However, just 3 weeks ago I got hit with a bad virus that totally destroyed the OS. I could not use the recovery CD nor could I do a restore. I had to take it to a shop and pay them $110 to get it straightened out. They did save most of my personal files but the pc was back to like it was when I first took it out of the box, had to re-install everything. They told me I should stay away from Mcafee and Norton. They put a copy of AVG on for me to try and It’s pretty easy to use with WE so, I think I’m going to upgrade to the paid version.. Tony No virus found in this message.
