Well I'll be snookered. I closed WE while Eudora was open and hit
control-alt-w to restart it. I'm hearing these graphics for the first
time. This is going to get tedious, but at least it's a way of managing it
until there's a better answer. Maybe I have to get used to leaving Eudora
accounts open.
Thanks much!

Marilyn,
Although I am running a later version of Eudora, I can hear the message
status spoken only if I unload and reload Window-Eyes each time I enter
Dudora. Evidently, Eudora messes with screen settings or overlays
settings or something unruly like that and that's what has to be
done. While it may not be your total problem, it's worth a try, although
annoying if you use Eudora as much as I do. I don't unload and reload
Window-Eyes unless I have a specific need to know those status settings
for each message, for instance to make sure that an attachment actually
got sent out with a message.
Hope that this helps.

I am using Eudora 6.2.1.2 in light mode. I have been trying to label the
graphics for read, unread, sent, and so on. I have Eudora set files
running with WE 7.5.4.1, but nothing is being spoken. I have tried to
find the information to be sure my computer is set for 32-bit colors as
advised, but I can't find this information nor how to set it.
Any help would be appreciated.
