That's probably a good idea. <grin>. Okay. In WE six point one, I had the default header rotor in the verbosity property page set to column or row. With that setting, as you know, Window-Eyes would speak the new column header when the user arrowed left or right to a new column and the new row header when the user moved up or down to a new row. Since at least seven point five point two, the default header control in the verbosity> browse> table property page is non functional.
Anybody should be able to duplicate the problem. Open the WE control panel, navigate down the settings tree view to verbosity, right and down arrow to browse, then right and down arrow to table. Tab to the default header rotor combo box and set it to column or row. Save your setting. Now, find a table to read. The Weather Channel extended forecast table is the one I navigate on a daily basis. Window-Eyes is not reading column or row headers as I navigate the table, even though the verbosity> browse> table> default header control is set to column or row. When I use the header rotor hot key, control-shift-h, the first option is invariably attribute only, which means WE thinks it's set to no title, even though the default header control is supposed to be telling it to read column or row. I have had occasion to uninstall and reinstall WE a couple of times, yet this problem persists. It's got to be built into the end product. What baffles me is that I am the only person who has uncovered this problem. Am I really the only Window-Eyes user who wants table column and/ or row headers voiced by default as I move through table cells? Is the GW Micro staff's working copy of Window-Eyes different from the one they ship to end users? I know the GW Micro staff use WE with various configurations to make sure everything is working. I have to assume someone there plays with different default table header configurations. I am at a loss to explain why this has gone undetected. The frustrating aspect is, this control once worked perfectly reliably, and now it's been busted through at least three upgrades. -----Original Message----- From: Raul A. Hi, maybe it will help if you give more details, as in what you press, what you expect to happen, and what is actually happening. Thanks. -- Raul A.
