Greetings!

To answer your question, here's what it says in the read me file:

"* The option to speak the word "link" before or after one is
encountered has been removed. Instead, this control type is now voiced
based on the "speak window types" verbosity option (as are all other
controls)."
In other words, its not independant anymore.
