OK, this may sound strange, but...
I have two situations. The first is easiest. When I delete a file, in
the old versions of we, the next file would be spoken and it would be
unselected. Now, when I delete a file, nothing is spoken. In order to
hear the next file, it is necessary to either press ctrl-numpad5 or to
move the cursor up or down and then back to the file.
This next issue is a bit more complex to explain, so I will describe
what I do and what result occurs.
In my Carol folder, there are approximately 300 files. In previous
version, I could press a letter to get to a particular file, i.e. n for
newsletter, notes, etc. What would happen would be that WE would reply
something like this:
name 1 200 of 300
name 2 201 of 300
newsletter 222 of 300
notes 234 of 300
You get the idea. Now, this is what happens, using the same example:
name 1 3 of 25
name 2 2 of 25
newsletter 18 of 25
notes 2 of 25
If I listen to the entire line of text, name, number x of 25, date, file
size, and all of the other typical stuff on a line in list format,
eventually, I will hear the appropriate 200 of 300, 201 of 300, etc.
The other strange thing is that the number is always x of 25, no matter
how many items there are in the list. suppose it wouldn't be quite as
confusing if it would at least say the number of items with that same
letter, but sometimes, I have file names that are very similar and it
gets confusing when WE repeats through the cycle where there may be 3
occurences of 2 of 25 and only a total of 7 items in the entire list
beginning with a particular letter or character.
I am sorry for the long message, but I hope this is clearly stated.
Carol
