Hi,
With WLM on Win 7 64, start composing a message. Then, press windows m to go to
the desktop. When I alt tab back, the message stays minimized and I can’t
continue composing and have to close and restart from a draft or new message.
For browse mode, yes, I would like a single keypress for controls like you
suggested. Maybe make it an option in the settings for the people that wanted
it the other way. Also speaking of browse mode, could you make the arrow keys
deactivate browse mode? I don’t want to have to press enter or tab. I know how
it works in Jaws is that if nothing’s in the box, pressing up or down arrow
automaticly turns it back off. The only thing this would not be used for is
things like radio buttons, checkboxes or comboboxes. Maybe I’m wanting too much
though
Sorry if I came off like I hated WE in my first message. I just wanted to make
you aware of these issues.

Patrick,

Let me address each of your issues in this email:

1) FF and flash

Unfortunately the crash you are seeing is related for a FF bug. We have been
fighting with Adobe and Mozilla to get this resolved for some time. We started
with Adobe and after several months they determined it is a bug in FF and
posted the following bug with Mozilla:

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=781971

I suggest everyone put as much pressure as possible on Mozilla to get this bug
resolved.

We are able to duplicate this bug without Window-Eyes running but using the
Microsoft accessibility testing tools instead.

2) occasional system hang

If you are able to duplicate this with some reliability I can give you some
steps that would help get us debug information to see what is causing the hang.

3) WLM

I'm not seeing this. If you can give anything that would help repro this on
demand that would be helpful.

4) browse mode nav keys

I want to make sure I'm following... Right now to get to the next button you
can press "NB" but you aren't liking this and would just rather have a single
keypress? The same is true for edit box, combo box, check box, radio button,
list box?

5) formatted selection

This won't make 8.0 but could actually be done pretty easy with a Window-Eyes
app...humm... For now you can just select the entire page as was suggested and
doing the chopping in wherever you are pasting the content which I assume is
something like Word which can retain the structure or all this is moot anyway.

I detailed some of my issues with WE in my first email to the list, subject
suggestion for browse mode. Also though, I’m seeing a lot of things get
overlooked like the issue with Firefox and youtube videos causing the system to
hang until ff is closed. Also, there’s the persistent issue of IE and WE both
causing the system to hang occasionally when you have multiple windows using
browse mode. This typicly happens if WE has to be restarted for any reason,
and it’s not consistent. Sometimes it can happen in one windo, and then you
could restart WE again to try and fix the issue and have it be fine in that
window, but have the same thing happen in another.
With Live Mail, sometimes I again have to restart WE because the message body
field will not read when writing a message, and if you hit windows m and then
try and alt tab back, WE has issues focusing, and I need to restart composing
from scratch.
Browse mode is indeed doing better, however, I would like the commands such
as navigating to buttons etc be put in WE itself instead of either having to
use control search or hitting c to get to the control you want.
I have some of these issues more detailed in other emails, but hope this
helps. Can you make copying formatting included in the final release?

  Patrick,

Can you be more specific? Is the copy and paste what makes you say this or
do you have other issues? I hate to see broad statements like this without
more details. It can be very misleading to others.

Thanks. I really feel this needs to be addressed. Window-eyes is way behind
when it comes to this. I know this is beta but coming from using jaws and nvda
ever since 7.5.4.1, I’m left disappointed at where we 8 beta is still with
browse mode.

        Hi,
Do an insert b, insert a, insert b, insert c. That will copy the
entire contents of the page to the clipboard where you can paste it somewhere
and strip off what you don't want. Unfortunately there is no other way to copy
individual page elements at this time.

      Hi,
I’m trying to select text from a webpage that is a table. However, W.E
does not copy such formatting over. I have to use another screen reader since
W.E only copies the textual info with no formatting. Am I missing something?
